ABOUT MALTA STUDENT VISA
Everyone who is not from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, needs a visa to study in Malta. If you are exempt from a Schengen visa, then you may be able to pursue a short study course (max. 3 months) without a visa. However, for full-time courses (which are longer than 3 months) every non-EU/EEA/Swiss national needs a Malta student visa.
Study visa process:
To apply for a Malta student visa, you must contact the Maltese embassy, consulate, or a visa application office in your country. Then, you must:
Schedule an appointment for the submission of a visa application. CVU fees: 150 euros.
Collect all the required documents for a Malta student visa.
On the day of your appointment, submit the application form, fee payment, and other requested documents. Make sure you fill out the application form completely and sign it at the end.
How to schedule the appointment:
In the following link, you can search for your country and select the location where you wish to submit your visa application. In the link, you must complete your registration.
Once the registration is finished, make sure to select the “long term – Student visa” option from the dropdown list. Then, you will need to fill in all the required information.
It is important that all your details are written correctly. Once completed, you will be able to choose the date and time of your appointment and make the payment.
After Entering Malta with a Student Visa
After you enter Malta with a student visa, you must apply for a Maltese temporary residence permit within the first three months. To apply for a student residence permit in Malta, you must submit a request through the Identity Malta Online Application site. The residence permit will allow you to stay in Malta for longer than one year.
